Soft formed and rounded rectangular lenses make the Nelson a highly wearable choice of sunglasses from Swedish cult fashion brand, Monokel. The Nelson are medium wide with flattering rounded lens shape and are designed to be unisex and are the style that works for nearly all face shapes and sizes. It is an easy-to-wear style that is handcrafted with unwavering dedication to premium craftsmanship.

Monokel make the rich brown Cola colourway by mixing organic colour powder with raw biodegradable cellulose acetate. The result is a highly durable, hypoallergenic material, made from renewable resources.

The crystal clear polished surface is achieved by tumbling the components of the frames in barrels filled with small pieces of wood coated with oil, paste, and other natural materials and then hand-buffed.

Grey lenses are known for their classic style and versatility. They’re great for reducing glare on both sunny and cloudy days, while also providing anti-fatigue benefits. Grey lenses have the added benefit of allowing true colour perception showing the colour of objects in their purest form.

All Monokel lenses feature anti-scratch and anti-reflective treatment with 100% UVA/UVB protection. Made by renowned German lens and optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss.

Duty and Taxes

All overseas orders are currently shipped DAP (delivered at place.)

This means that the customer is responsible for any import duty, local tax and any handling surcharge by the shipping company.

Note : We do not charge UK VAT on export orders.

The current UK VAT rate of 20% will be removed from the order value at checkout if the delivery address is outside of the UK.

Please note, that if you refuse to accept the goods from our nominated courier for any reason other than clear and obvious damage to the box or shipping container or product, or do not provide the correct information necessary for delivery of goods and subsequently the products are returned to us, we reserve the right to charge a discretionary restocking fee of up to £10 per item.

Cost of Shipping

The estimated time of delivery for international parcels is 5 to 10 working days throughout most destinations worldwide. Some remote destinations however can take a little longer.

All of Monokel's sunglasses lenses have been designed and produced by the world renowned Zeiss Corporation. The Zeiss Foundation has been around for 150 years and is a world leader in lens manufacturing for all kinds of applications including camera lenses, microscopes and opthalmic lenses. Needless to say, the lenses in Monokel Eyewear are outstanding quality and are 100% UV protective and in compliance with European, USA, Australian, and New Zealand standards.

Handmade Detail

Monokel's sunglasses are a premium hand crafted product. The coloured lenses are made by mixing organic color powder or black ink with raw biodegradable cellulose acetate extracted from wood and cotton pulp. The acetate pieces are then rolled in wood pellets, oil and paste for a smooth finish which is fianlly hand-buffed by Monokel's technicians. The screws and hinges are Japanese teflon coated steel for exceptional durability.
