      World View

A Fragrance Brand for the Future

Gabar are a fragrance brand with a heart, and that heart is Myanmar (South-East Asia). Although the brand is global in its mindset and the founders' current home is London, the fragrances are heavily influenced by their Burmese roots. Each scent is linked to both a place in Myanmar and an evocation of the mindful state that the place inspires.

Gabar means 'World' in Burmese and Gabar aim to build a more creative and inspired world and to give back to help build a better one.

With that in mind, ten percent of their yearly profits go to the rebuilding of Myanmar.

      Embracing Everyone

Free expression is at the very heart of everything that Gabar do. They believe wholeheartedly in self-freedom, fluidity, and being unafraid to show all of the conflicting and dynamic sides of who we are. In this sense, they are a brand that is committed to building for every kind of individual.

Their fragrances are ungendered, each one is for anyone that falls in love with its scent.

      Making Conscious Choices

From packaging to bottle design to material choices, every action taken is a conscious one: committed to creating the least harm and overturning old, wasteful and unnecessary structures. Avoiding excess, Gabar aim to do everything with the least fuss, while still keeping room open for creativity and expression. This bold simplicity and commitment to un-doing old systems is apparent across the brand.

      True and Conscious Presence

      Fragrances to Inspire

Gabar launched in October 2021 with its range of fragrances, tapping into their South-East Asian heritage and the concept of conscious, mindful living in a contemporary way.

Made with UK-based Master Perfumer Ruth Mastenbroek, the Gabar collection was named a Fragrance Foundation UK New Independent Perfume finalist.

Each fragrance is tied to a specific location in Myanmar, its environment and rich flora and fauna, and to specific mindful states — calm, groundedness and flow. Crafted with the aromatherapeutic qualities of the ingredients in mind, Gabar's fragrances have both a depth and lightness that appeal to all genders and generations.

      Rebuilding Myanmar

The ten percent of Gabar's profits that go towards the rebuilding of Myanmar includes a donation to Prospect Burma, a UK- and Myanmar-based organization that supports Myanmar's young people to gain higher education and skills. Their efforts promote a younger generation of collaboration to repair the country's damaged infrastructure and peacefully rebuild a civil society.

Additionally, Gabar are currently working with several NGO partners to develop their very own Foundation. The work of the soon-to-be Gabar Foundation will serve Myanmar over the longer-term, focusing on critical economic development areas such as agriculture and education.

Gabar really are a fragrance brand for the future.

      Prospect Burma

Prospect Burma believes that the best way to create positive and lasting change in Myanmar is through investing in education. They provide access to higher education opportunities to dedicated, talented people from underserved communities in Myanmar who have a realistic ambition for making a difference. Their programmes are designed to reach out to remote regions, including those affected by conflict, to help individuals determine the path for their future. They support Myanmar's young people to access higher education opportunities, home and abroad, to gain skills and qualifications. Once the students graduate, Prospect Burma facilitates their alumni to plan long-term positive change in their country.
