Bluff + Deception Card Game with an Italian Court Theme
The idea of Coup is to be the last person with influence left in the game, where influence is represented by character cards that you have face down in front of you.
Play goes in rounds and each round you have 3 actions - take a coin, take an additional 2 coins (from foreign aid) or orchestrate a coup for the cost of 7 coins. A coup against another player will mean that they lose an influence card.
Each player has 2 secret character cards (or influence) and these cards allow you to invoke special abilities each turn. The cards all have a cause and effect on each other eg the assasin allows you to remove an influence card from an opponent for only 3 coins but the contessa card will block this move. There are 5 types of influence card in the game.
However, you do not have to tell the truth about which influence characters you have. You can claim to have a card that you do not possess and use the benefits of this card even though you do not have it. Players can call you out if they think you are bluffing but if they are wrong then they lose an influence. If they are correct, you lose an influence.
With multiple copies of each character in the deck, you never quite know who is telling the truth. When both of your character/influence cards have been revealed, either by coups or assinations or accusations, you are out of the round. Last player with influence cards face down is the winner.

Any order over £85 is free delivery and will be shipped using a Tracked 48 service unless another service is specified.
