Nine Tiles Panic | Pattern Building Board Game

Nine Tiles Panic is an extended version of the Oink game Nine Tiles that was originally only released in Japan. It is a competitive pattern building puzzle game where you must build a city using in a 3x3 grid of double sided town tiles.

The town tiles have roads that must interconnect on the grid, but as well as this there are cool little graphical elements such as aliens, burgers, UFO’s and secret agents that appear on the tiles. These form the basis of the challenge cards and dictate the way in which your town is built.

So, how do you play Nine Tiles Panic by Oink Games?

1. Each player is dealt 9 double sided town tiles for their 3x3 grid.

2. There are then 3 random scoring cards that are revealed. These could be most aliens on a single road, most dogs in the town or the longest road, for example.

3. The players then try to build their towns with a view to winning either 1, 2 or 3 of the conditions set on the scoring card.

4. The first person to declare their town ready, then flips the timer giving the remaining players only 90 seconds to complete their own towns. Panic!

5. When the timer has run out, the towns are scored on the conditions that have been met. The player with the most win conditions gets points equal to the number of players in the game. The second best gets one less until the last player is left with 1 point.

6. The game is over when one person has accumulated enough points over several rounds to reach the win total with the challenges over each round becoming increasingly difficult.

Nine Tiles Panic has a great concept, with playful graphics and fun challenges and the timer makes for a frenzied end of round each time. Fab for families and compact and lightweight as a travel game.
