Studio Arhoj Mion Mug – Edo Series Handmade Stoneware Coffee Mug in Dark Neutral Shades from Copenhagen.

The Mion Mug by Studio Arhoj is a handmade stoneware mug that blends everyday function with the expressive surfaces the Copenhagen studio is known for. Part of the Edo Series, it reflects a more sculptural approach to ceramics while remaining practical enough for daily use.

Each mug is wheel-thrown from durable stoneware in Studio Arhoj’s Copenhagen workshop. The shape is slightly rounded with a balanced base and a comfortable handle that sits naturally in the hand. Its size makes it well suited to coffee, tea or any everyday hot drink.

As with many of the studio’s ceramics, glaze plays a central role in the finished look. Studio Arhoj works with layered reactive glazes that develop movement and texture during firing. Colours can pool, shift and break across the surface, creating subtle variations and unique patterns on each mug. While the form remains consistent, the finish always carries its own character.

The Edo Series focuses on tactile forms and expressive glaze work, often leaning slightly more decorative than the studio’s tableware collections. The Mion Mug sits comfortably within this approach — practical enough for everyday use, yet distinctive enough to stand out among standard drinkware.
