Dorfromantik is a co-operative tile laying board game for 1-6 players based on the award winning indie video game of the same name. The game has a zen-like uncompetitive playing style that is really simple to pick up, so great for families and anyone that does not like the competitive nature of gaming.
The idea is to blind pick tiles from a stack and create a landscape where certain combinations of tile score points. The mechanic is very much like a co-operative version of the classic game Carcassonne. Each player takes it in turn to pick and lay a tile and the game is scored at the end as a collaborative effort.
Much like a video game mechanic, the scoring system becomes the reason to replay the game, as the better you and your team gets, the more points you score which leads to bonus content and different tiles and scenarios are unlocked for the next game.
These additional tiles are initially blind boxed and should only be opened once you have amassed enough points from playing the base game.
Dorfromantik is very much recommended for casual gamers or families or anyone looking for a relaxing game that avoids any competitive edge.
