Edo Series Speckled Stoneware Bowl

The Sun Bowl by Studio Arhoj is a low, open stoneware bowl designed for serving and shared dining. Part of the Edo Series, the hand thrown bowl pairs simple, functional form with the Studio Arhoj's signature expressive glaze work.

  • Approx. 13.5 x 7.7cm
  • Holds approx. 600ml
  • Images are indicative.
  • Each bowl is individually wheel-thrown and hand-glazed, so variations in colour and finish will occur.

Each bowl is wheel-thrown in Copenhagen from durable stoneware. Its wider, shallow profile makes it ideal for dishes that benefit from space, (salads, pasta, grain bowls or shared sides) and works naturally as a centrepiece for relaxed, communal meals.

Reactive glazes define the finish. During firing, colours shift and settle across the surface, creating movement, variation and texture. Produced in small batches, no two bowls are ever exactly the same, while the form remains consistent.

The Edo Series is slightly more sculptural than the studio’s core tableware, and the Sun Bowl reflects that balance. It's practical for everyday use, but strong enough to stand out when serving.

Studio Arhoj is a Copenhagen-based ceramics studio known for its bold glazes, soft forms and distinctive mix of Scandinavian design and Japanese ceramic tradition. Each piece is shaped, cast and finished by hand, with colours that shift and react during firing to create completely unique results.

From collectable figurines to everyday tableware, Studio Arhoj objects sit between function and expression. Produced in small batches, no two pieces are ever exactly the same which is part of what makes the studio’s work so recognisable and widely collected.
