Meet Bern! Bern is a thin mushroom shaped, hand glazed ceramic figurine created as a close relative of the classic Arhoj Ghost. The Familia, including Bern, is a continuation of the playful decorative object series from Studio Arhoj.

Like much of Anders Arhoj's creations, these are inspired by Japanese ceramics and culture. The Shinto idea of all objects having a soul on some level is playfully brought to life by giving these creations eyes (and with them, a unique personality). There is also a Scandinavian twist as each piece is handmade in Copenhagen, Denmark, meaning the glaze colour and finish will never be exactly the same on any two items.

The adorable Bern provides a contemporary ornamental colour punch and personality to your home décor.

Studio Arhoj is a Copenhagen-based ceramics studio known for its bold glazes, soft forms and distinctive mix of Scandinavian design and Japanese ceramic tradition. Each piece is shaped, cast and finished by hand, with colours that shift and react during firing to create completely unique results.

From collectable figurines to everyday tableware, Studio Arhoj objects sit between function and expression. Produced in small batches, no two pieces are ever exactly the same which is part of what makes the studio’s work so recognisable and widely collected.
