For anyone who misses the ritual of choosing a tape, pressing play and actually listening to an album from beginning to end, We Are Rewind has brought the portable cassette player properly into the present.
The WE-001 plays compact cassettes from Type I through Type IV and records in stereo onto Type I tape. Alongside its 3.5mm headphone connection is a Bluetooth 5.1 transmitter, allowing your tapes to be played through compatible wireless headphones or speakers.
Power comes from an integrated rechargeable 2000mAh lithium-ion battery rather than disposable batteries, providing approximately 10–12 hours of listening between charges.
And yes, there’s still a pencil in the box for those occasions when only a pencil will do.
