Tokyo Series Porcelain Sauce Dish, Hand-Cast in Copenhagen in Cool Shades for Dips, Condiments and Small Servings

The Dip Dish by Studio Arhoj is a small porcelain serving dish designed for sauces, condiments and small table additions. Part of the studio’s Tokyo Series tableware collection, it follows the same relaxed design approach found across the range — simple forms paired with expressive glaze finishes.

Each dish is slip-cast from porcelain and finished by hand in Studio Arhoj’s Copenhagen workshop. The porcelain body allows for a clean, refined edge and smooth surface, while the shallow profile keeps the dish practical for serving small portions at the table.

  • Approximately 4 x 9cm
  • Hand-cast porcelain with reactive glaze finishes
  • Shallow form with softly uneven edges
  • Each piece varies in colour, texture and glaze movement
  • Suitable for table use, small objects or serving

Photos are only indicative. As each item is hand-cast and glazed, items will differ slightly, but will be within the colour spectrum of the Bowl pictured in the photo.

Its compact size makes it useful for a wide range of everyday tasks. The Dip Dish works naturally for soy sauce, dressings and oils, but is just as useful for olives, nuts, spices or small side servings. It also fits easily into shared table settings where multiple small dishes are used for condiments and toppings.

Studio Arhoj’s glaze work brings character to each piece. Layered reactive glazes develop during firing, producing subtle colour shifts, speckles and flowing surface textures. Because each dish is glazed and fired in small batches, no two will ever look exactly the same, giving every piece a slightly individual finish.

Used on its own or combined with cups and bowls from the Tokyo Series, the Dip Dish is a simple, practical piece of porcelain designed for everyday dining.

Studio Arhoj is a Copenhagen-based ceramics studio known for its bold glazes, soft forms and distinctive mix of Scandinavian design and Japanese ceramic tradition. Each piece is shaped, cast and finished by hand, with colours that shift and react during firing to create completely unique results.

From collectable figurines to everyday tableware, Studio Arhoj objects sit between function and expression. Produced in small batches, no two pieces are ever exactly the same which is part of what makes the studio’s work so recognisable and widely collected.
