Bare Bones Chocolate

Chocolate Done Right

Bare Bones is a Glasgow-based bean-to-bar chocolate maker producing micro-batch bars with a focus on simplicity, precision and flavour clarity.

Built from the process up

Everything is handled in-house, from raw bean through to finished bar. Small batch sizes and custom-built equipment allow for tight control over roasting and refinement, shaping flavour without over-processing.

Minimal by design

The same thinking carries through into the branding and packaging. Designed in-house and made from recycled, compostable materials, the presentation reflects the chocolate itself: simple, considered and free from excess.

Bare Bones Chocolate

Founded by Cameron and Lara in Glasgow, Bare Bones is built around attention to detail at every stage, from sourcing cacao to roasting, grinding and ageing the chocolate in-house. Production happens in micro-batches, allowing for precise control over flavour and texture.

Co-founder Cameron’s background in engineering feeds directly into the process. Much of the equipment used in production has been adapted or built in-house, often repurposed from coffee roasting, allowing for precise control at a micro-batch level. It’s a hands-on, iterative setup that prioritises flexibility and fine-tuning over scale.

Their approach is deliberately stripped back. Most bars are made using just cacao and sugar, avoiding emulsifiers, additives or flavour masking. The result is chocolate that feels clean, structured and focused on the natural characteristics of each origin.
