Baggu

simple mission

reusable

Baggu has redefined the concept of reusable bags with its unique blend of design, functionality, and sustainability. Founded in 2007, San Franciscan based Baggu started with a simple mission: to create a reusable bag that was not only functional and affordable but also aesthetically pleasing.

Their classic Shopper bag is made from ripstop nylon, which is a lightweight and durable material. They can hold up to three times as much weight as a standard plastic grocery bag, and they fold up into a small pouch that can easily be clipped to a keychain or bag.

Standard shopper

The Baggu Standard Shopper is a versatile and eco-friendly accessory that has gained popularity for its durability and stylish design. Made from recycled ripstop nylon, it's a sustainable choice for those looking to reduce their environmental footprint. The shopper is not only machine washable but also folds into a compact pouch, making it an excellent option for on-the-go needs. With the ability to carry up to 50lbs, it's perfect for grocery shopping, carrying gym gear, or as an everyday tote. The range of patterns and colours available, from sunset quilt stripes to playful gingham, ensures that there's a Baggu shopper to match any personal style.

Crescent Bag

Baggu's Crescent bag is a stylish and practical accessory for those on the go. Made from recycled nylon, these bags are not only eco-friendly but also durable and lightweight. Available in various sizes, from small to large, they can accommodate a range of items, making them versatile for everyday use. The smaller bags are perfect for essentials like your phone, wallet, and keys, while the larger ones are spacious enough to fit a laptop. With an adjustable strap and interior zip pocket, they combine convenience with comfort. Whether you're running errands or heading to work, a Baggus Crescent bag is a fashionable and responsible choice for carrying your belongings.

Production lifecycle

Code of Conduct

Baggu's products are ethically manufactured in China, where they have long-standing relationships with ISO 9001:2015- and ISO 140001-certified manufacturers. These manufacturing facilities are audited yearly by an independent third party and ensures they are upholding standards of occupational health and safety. Thier production team also visits yearly to inspect production and meet the teams producing the bags.

Waste + Durability

To minimize waste and increase durability, the reusable bags are assembled from one continuous piece of recycled nylon material, with the neck of the bag used to construct the carrying pouch. This is one of the ways in which Baggu works to eliminate waste during the actual construction of their products.

Recycled Nylon + Cotton

Baggu ripstop nylon styles — including the namesake reusable bags — are made with 100% recycled nylon filament yarn produced from pre-consumer waste, meaning they are saving scrap from being landfilled, and in turn helping conserve petrol resources & reducing greenhouse gas emissions. All the canvas bags currently are made from 65% recycled cotton.

Baggu | FAQs

The company's mission is to reduce plastic bag waste by providing stylish and sustainable alternatives.

Baggu was founded in 2007 by Emily Sugihara in San Francisco.

They are sustainable: Baggu products are made from recycled materials, which helps to reduce plastic waste.

They conduct yearly audits with a third party to confirm their partners uphold fair labor standards, including humane working hours and wages. Additionally, their production team visits factories annually to inspect operations and meet the workers.

To clean the Recycled Ripstop Nylon and Heavyweight Nylon products, machine (or hand) wash cold and line dry.

Nearly all of the Canvas products are machine washable, with the exception of bags with hardware (such as top zip closures), which should be spot cleaned. Since heat can be damaging to the integrity of the fabric, we recommend line drying, as it is more gentle (and better for the environment!).
