Mikia AW26 Jet Multi Heishi Beads Necklace - Male Jewellery
Mikia's handmade Jet Multi Heishi Bead necklace combines black jet with an irregular mix of colour natural stones and shell to create a distinctive beaded necklace with rich variations in colour and texture.
The base material is black jet, interspersed with turquoise, lapis lazuli, jasper, hematite, spiny oyster and other stones in shades of blue, red, brown and orange. A natural puka shell formts part of the fastening with sterling silver 925 details, all threaded onto silk cord.
Mikia's use of natural stones means that subtle differences in colour, pattern and shape occur between individual pieces, making each necklace unique.
Jet is a natural organic material formed from fossilised wood and is prized for its deep black colour and smooth finish. It has been used in jewellery and amulets for thousands of years and has traditionally been associated with protection and grounding and is also considered to absorb negative energy.
