Born in East London

Influenced by Everywhere

Earl of East is a London-based brand that creates home fragrance and self-care products inspired by travel and memory. Founded in 2014 by Niko Dafkos and Paul Firmin, Earl of East started as a hobby project at a local market in Hackney, where they sold vintage furniture and handmade candles.

Since those humble beginnings their passion has ensured that Earl of East has grown from a small market stall to a global brand.

Onsen bath salts with Onsen Candle by Earl Of East, these natural bath salts are a blend of Himalayan and Epsom salt with mandarin, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils and have been developed to relieve muscle tension and aid relaxation.
sustainability
self-care

Earl of East now create gorgeous-smelling vegan and cruelty-free candles, home fragrance and self-care products, and they are committed to sustainability.

All of Earl of East's products and packaging are vegan.

Earl of East first started with candles and these are still the core product of the brand, but they are growing all the time and now also produce room sprays, essential oil blends, incense, and more…

Made with care
Hand-Poured Candles

Each candle is hand-poured in Earl of East's London studio using eco-soy (non-GMO) wax that is grown and harvested in the US, but manufactured in the UK.

The candles are scented with both essential and botanical oils. Essential oils are naturally derived, while botanical oils take the constituents of a plant which are then mimicked by scientists in a lab. Earl of East's aim is to create an affordable but luxurious product, with a consistent scent all year round. Using a mixture of both botanical and essential oil allows them to do this. The oils in their candles are ethically sourced and fully traceable to origin.

Earl of East's candle wicks are made from cotton and unbleached linen, dipped in vegetable wax. This means your candle shouldn’t smoke or create a large flame.

This care and attention ensures a high-quality, beautifully scented product that is eco-friendly, vegan, and cruelty-free.

Not Just Candles…

Home Fragrance and Self-Care

Earl of East started out with candles but didn't stop there! They now make luxuriant bath salts, incense, essential oil blends of their best-selling candle fragrances, and more.

A recent addition to their growing self-care range is an all over oil in a best-selling candle fragrance, Shinrin-Yoku, inspired by the Japanese ritual of forest bathing.

PF Candle Co | FAQ's

PF Candle Co are one of USTUDIO's favourite and best selling brands. Below are some of the questions we get asked in store about their scented candles and other products.

All of PF Candle Co's ingredients are carefully sourced to create safe, sustainable products that are vegan, cruelty-free, phthalate-free, and never tested on animals.

All of PF candles are made with 100% American-grown soy wax and cotton core wicks. PF Candle Co's Classic products are made using a blend of fine fragrance oils that consist of natural and man-made materials.

PF Candle Co's products are designed to elevate your everyday rather than to overpower your space. Because of this, their scent throw will be more intimate than other products on the market. To ensure your space is well-scented, we suggest using each product in the appropriately-sized area.

Small Spaces:  Room Sprays, and Room & Linen Sprays (best used on linens!).

Medium Spaces: 204g/7.2 oz Standard Candles, Classic Reed Diffusers.

Large Spaces: 354g/12.5 oz Large Candles, Classic Incense. We might also suggest burning two or more 204g candles at a time in larger spaces.

PF Candle Co use a premium blend of man-made and natural fragrances, as they:

1) allow them to create more complex scent profiles;

2) are often more sustainable to produce; and,

3) allow them to offer their products at accessible price points.

Scented and fragranced products need love too!

To care for your candles, trim the candle’s wick to 0.5cm before or after every burn session and allow the candle to burn for 3-4 hour intervals, or until a full melt pool has formed.

To prolong the lifespan of your reed diffusers, keep them out of direct contact with sunlight, heat and humidity, and flip the reeds weekly, or when the fragrance becomes faint.

Yes! They can  be repurposed into vases, storage containers, succulent pots or even another candle. To recycle or repurpose your jar, we recommend thoroughly cleansing it with your washing up liquid or a 1:1 solution of water to vinegar.
