May Hofman make playfully designed jewellery that mimics nature’s geometry. Necklaces, rings and earrings made from Fairmined gold vermeil and 85% recycled oxidised silver, designed to be mixed, matched, and stacked to build striking combinations. They are a unisex, genderless brand and want their wearers to come up with their own combinations to suit their own style.

Rosie May Hofman has always been drawn to take a closer look. From a childhood spent in rural Gloucestershire collecting shells, leaf skeletons, and seedcases, a love for all things small, beautiful, and intricate grew. From this background, and an HND in Jewellery Design and a BA in Design for Industry at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, came the award-winning brand, May Hofman Jewellery.

Originally inspired by the mechanics of nature, May Hofman’s designs have evolved into geometric and playful creations, taking onboard a tapestry of influences. Using gold plate and oxidised silver with tactile components, their signature mechanical style is achieved.

From her home workshop in Stroud, Rosie May Hofman designs each component in her collections through sketching and traditional craftsmanship, alongside modern techniques such as 3D design and casting. Blending the two allows Rosie to play with possibilities and add intricate detail, capturing an ancient yet modern quality in each piece.

True sustainability is total transparency, knowing that no route is perfect but committing to continuous improvements. With this in mind, May Hofman currently work with 85% recycled silver and 100% Fairmined gold vermeil.

They have partnered with Just One Tree who are regrowing rainforests in some of the earth’s most vulnerable ecosystems. By planting trees and using mostly UK-based suppliers, they are actively bringing down their carbon footprint. All their packaging is made from recycled paper with eco-friendly ink, which can be recycled again.
